There are a variety of different types of thread that can be used for embroidery, and the type that is best suited for a particular project will depend on the design, the fabric, and the desired finished look.
Some of the most common types of embroidery thread include cotton, rayon, polyester, and metallic. Cotton threads are strong and durable, making them ideal for projects that will see a lot of wear, such as clothing or linens.
Rayon threads have a beautiful sheen and come in a wide range of colors, making them a popular choice for decorative projects. Polyester threads are very strong and resist fading, making them a good choice for projects that will be exposed to sunlight. Metallic threads add a bit of sparkle to a project and are often used for holiday-themed or other special-occasion designs.
The following threads are commonly used for dress embroidery:
- Human silk thread: human silk is more expensive, good gloss, good coloring, bright color, suitable for high-grade embroidery.
